Welcome
These pages offer a glimpse into my practice of Chinese Medicine and the view I hold of its transformative and healing potential.
My intention is to work with individuals in a supportive, integrative and collaborative way that encourages deeper awareness of what is arising - whether that be in the physical, emotional or mental body.
My approach to client care begins with a broad view to allow for influences from one's life history to be considered when assessing the root cause(s) of the disharmony that is bringing one to treatment. I then look more specifically at the current and primary symptoms and the most effective way of offering treatment which may include using a combination of Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs, Massage and/or Yoga.
My deepest call to this practice is in supporting transformation in the people I work with.
About TCM
Rooted in Doaist philosophy, Chinese Medicine is a wisdom tradition dating back several thousand years. Originally transmitted from Master to Student over the course of a lifetime, it describes the dynamic interrela- tionship between human beings and the natural world. This medicine is based upon a philosophy of holism and views all things as interrelated.
Concepts such as Yin, Yang, Qi and Blood are used describe the various ways that energy and other substances are balanced and regulate our systems at all levels.
Therapeutically, Chinese Medicine treats dis-ease by identifying the root cause of the imbalance as well as its symptoms and then applying the appropriate treatment to one or both of those manifestations. Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs, Tuina (Massage), Qi Gong, Tai Ji, Diet Therapy, and Moxabustion are some of the practices and techniques used to regulate and harmonize the physical, mental and emotional components of the individual.
Most importantly, Chinese Medicine emphasizes individualized care that reflects the specific needs of each client. There is a long standing belief that, as no two individuals are the same, no two treatments are the same.
